I'm not sure which thread this belong, but hopefully I could some opinions.
My husband and I are hosting our family x-mas party. This year we thought about buying fake lottery scratch off as gifts for everyone, showing jack pot winners and high $$$ amount winners. We would put them in a bag and have everyone pick their own scratch off ticket. In the end we would give everyone a real scratch off as a gift but we thought about adding humor, but at the same time we don't want to **** everybody off. Opinions please.
Personally, I wouldn't think it was funny. Especially if someone in your gathering is unemployed, letting them think that their money troubles were over even for 1 second is ... cruel.
But others might think it's hilarious. Only you can be the judge of how your family will take it.
I wouldn't find it humorous at all. I'd probably be in tears if for one minute I thought our money troubles were over, only to find out later it was a joke.
I wouldn't find it to be funny. Personally, I wouldn't take it as cruel but can see how it could be for some people. Mostly just pointless and not funny IMO.
