I hate to be a party pooper, but I can't eat most things at a bakery. Yuck! I knew a baker once and he told me that most of what they sell is at least half lard. After that, I can't stomach most of what is in there. Birthday cakes are ok, but it has to be from a good place or a local grocery chain. Even then, I keep thinking about the icing being half Crisco as I'm eating it.

As for a chocolate shoppe, however.....

Crumb buns-loaded with big chunky crumbs, excellent jelly donuts, cannoli's for sure.

Also very hard to find in this area-good ole Kaiser rolls.

I like the Swedish coffee bread with cardamom and I like the cider glazed doghnuts. I guess I don't like all the cream filled stuff very much.
I do like that super sweet junk frosting on grocery store cakes.

Those chocolate cake bars rolled in coconut. There used to be this Jewish bakery that had the best ones ever. They were so moist they were almost wet. OMG they were good!
