Bacon, onion, and tomato gravy makes grits savory. Then they go great with fried fish and mustard greens or collard greens. Even good with pan fried pork chops.

LOL - I can hear this, you didn't mention dill <gag> pickles!

I've never had cream of wheat! Grits are my fav when you cook them and add salt, pepper, butter and CHEESE!!!!!! Yum! OR maybe some "Red-eye" gravy on them.

My granny always said Grits stick to your ribs!!! I love Cream of Wheat and Malt o Meal ..but like one better as a kid . I forget which. Grits are nothing until you doctor it up!!! A blank palette so to speak. You would or could put bananas in Cream of Wheat or Malt o Meal why not Grits Try it you'll like it.
