I melt butter, chocolate, and marshmallows for recipes.
I also cook canned or frozen veggies or use my microwave steamer to steam fresh ones.

Nothing, it just doesn't taste as good as "traditional" methods. We use our microwave to heat up foods.

Nothing, I don't own one, I don't want one, I never miss one. When I did have one, all I ever did was heat water in it, and a saucepan is just as fast, and it's easier to tell when it is hot enough. I used to take a potato to work and nuke it for lunch, but that's the only thing Ive ever cooked in one.

other than veggies that I want steamed, or partially cooking potatoes, I don't "cook" anything in the microwave.
I was shocked when I discovered there are actually books on cooking in the microwave.
I think it should be used on a limited basis as it is *probably* bad for you.
(which is a risk I am willing to take because I am NOT giving it up)

Nothing! I threw mine out since the lprevious apt building had a nasty tenant that shared thier roaches with me. After moving I was totally broke because I had to replace everything. Luck shined on me and I got a nice handme down toaster oven my from my s.o.'s boss and a bunn coffee maker.
I use the toaster oven to warm things and I can make tea and instant soup with the Bunn.
I eat my fresh veggies just washed up, frozens go in the stainless steel steamer (much cheaper than the ziplock bags and better for the enviro) I tried the eggs once in a microwave..I almost threw up.
It was gross. Butter and an iron skillet for eggs only. Never a microwaved eggs again. UGH.
Im never getting a microwave again. I think it makes you snack more too. I do enough of that naturally.
