Ever since I was a kid, I've always liked raw potatoes. I still can't keep myself from munching on them when I'm cooking.. Anyone else here have this habit?

Most of my friends think it's "really gross" (although I'm not sure why).

When I was a kid and my Mom would make potato salad she'd peel the skins off, then cube them and soak them in water to plump them up before she'd boil them.

I loved to eat the little cubes when I was a kid, as an adult the taste is just too starchy to me.

I had a friend back in around 7th grade who peeled a raw potato and set to gnawing at it as an afternoon snack. It was one of the most bizarre things I could have imagined to reach for after school to munch on - the chalkiness of a raw potato would make it hard for me to find it palatable enough to eat. Knowing that there wouldn't be much nutritional value to it either makes it a no-brainer - I'd rather munch on raw cruciferous veggies or leafy greens if I'd have to pick.

I've never had a raw potato but I've had undercooked potatoes and I really don't taste much of a difference in flavor, only in texture (undercooked is much more firm). I don't get why my husband always apologizes when he undercooks the potatoes, it's not that big of a deal.

I've always liked raw potatoes as well, but it has to go along with a salt shaker!
Same goes for a tomato right out of the garden.

Yes, I like raw potatoes too ... it started out as a kid standing there watching my mom peel potatoes and she would give me a bite .... it's not like I could sit down to a serving of raw potatoes ... just munch on them now as I peel them.

Funny I was just talking about my horrible raw potato eating experience, and concluded that no one, anywhere, eats raw potatos. THanks for proving me wrong. No idea how you do it.

I've been know to snitch a few fries before they could find the pan. I love home made lumpy mashed potatoes too. A little crunch doesn't hurt.
