Grocery unless I see a cut or something I like at the farmers market. Nothing special and I don't go out of my way to verify how it was raised or anything. If it looks good I buy it, if it tastes good I come back.
The Eastern Market in Detroit is one of the biggest and oldest markets in the county. We have a short fresh-produce season in Michigan, but, it is what it is. Strawberries and asparagus start out in May, and the season runs through the apple cider and squash harvest at the end of September with the frost. The market has local growers, plus others who offer whatever the trucks from California bring each week.
Anyone and everyone shops there, and it is an amazing place.

I've been to that market and Cleveland's and love them both!
If I were starting up my own farmers' market, I'd model it after the market in Ann Arbor. The market in Madison, Wisconsin, is pretty amazing, too. Cheese curds rock!

Do realize that a good portion of the produce is raised in SE Michigan and Southern Ontario and that approximately half the vendors are actual farmers.
This contrasts MIGHTILY with the West Side Market in Cleveland where all the vendors purchase their produce from the wholesale houses in the city. About half the produce is first quality but much is surplus which means that you need to use it right away.
If you are shopping at the Eastern Market in Detroit, you should also travel a few miles south to Windsor's Market Square:
I've been to lot of Farmers Markets in Southern California and the very best one I've found was in Montrose Village (near Glendale). The produce looked so good they looked like movie props and the prices were reasonable too. The Farmers Market that is actually in Glendale is pathetic, but this one was wonderful.
