My father was in the military and we lived in German for a few years. As a kid I remeber how the honey wagon smelled when you got behind it while driving in your car.
The 1950s German version was a huge barrel pulled by oxen, here's a photo.
Bam ne Ba is owned by Fosters now. I think Cindy McCain owns a share too.
Last time Senator McCain went fact finding there, they spent a lo9t of time at the 33 Brewery
I feel sick. I have 2 adopted daughters from VN and seeing those kids playing in that filthy river made my skin crawl. That is the life they would have had if they had not become our daughters.

Sure give me a big helping of something from China...
I don't think I've seen any product from Vietnam but I'm constantly coming across produce from in Mexico/USA/Canada ... Now how can something be made in all three countries .... Besides ... I get squeamish about food products from Mexico as the water isn't safe for drinking

I haven't seen produce marked like that, but I have seen a lot of meat. For instance, check the source of Walmart beef and that's what you see. One retailer told me the regulations require meat to be marked as such if the processing plant processes meat from any of the 3 countries at any time, and a number of large processors do. However, another believes that's a misinterpretation of the rules and they market their beef as "product of the USA" based upon the source of their beef, not the processing facility.
Then, there are the large tubes of hamburger sold in many stores. They typically say "Product of US, Canada, Mexico, Columbia, Australia, Argentina." And, probably a good, healthy dose of pink slime as well. Apparently, they buy leftovers from anywhere and grind it up into hamburger.
In other words, you just can't be sure.
In the case of produce, it generally is marked as to its country of origin but you have to look closely to find it. A good many of the pre-packaged products will say, "Distributed by...." and that doesn't tell you anything but the mailing address of headquarters. For instance, a good bit of the head or chopped and bagged lettuce is marketed by a company in Salinas, CA (which is like lettuce central), but that doesn't mean it's grown there. It could be from somewhere else in California or Arizona or even Mexico and they buy and resell it. However, somewhere else on the packaging you'll find "produce of the USA."
It should be mandatory to mark ANY product with its country of origin, but given that corporations can do pretty much what they want, it's not likely to happen. Just as with genetically modified foods, we're in the dark about the sources of our food in the name of corporate profitability. They know very well that we might not buy it if we knew where it came from, so they just encourage their bought and paid for politicians to keep from requiring it. They've seen how Europeans reject genetically modified foods, where labeling as such is required, and they're not about to give us the same information.
Remember that the next time a politician tells you he's "friendly to business."
Are people dropping like flies over in nam? buy local if you can, but most people growing food for consumption do it in a manner that they would eat it........and do eat it.
People tend to think that everyone is out to get them. In general, people are good, caring, people. World wide.
