Of the barbeque that I've eaten,I think North Carolina has the best. I love the vinegar based sauce.

eastern South Carolina : whole hog with vinegar sauce, cooked on white oak.

it blows this North Carolina stuff away!

Texas brisket is a close runner up.

Ah the age old barbaque question? Well pork is the original bbq protein. So Im going to say The Carolinas. Southern when I want vinegar or yellow sauce based. Northern when I want whole hog tomato based.

Best sauce?? Everyone uses a variety of sauces ..store bought , homemade. I believe most in Texas are Vinegar based. My homemade is.. I've only eaten Texas BBQ and can't imagine better. But, not having tried others my opinion is biased of course. Texas BBQ is mostly beef not pork as others seem to be...
