Thanks for making that distinction. The ground up chicken variety of chicken sandwiches from the dollar menu - you get what you pay for. If it isn't striated breast meat you are eating a "fritter" of who knows what (probably a lot of "mechanically separated" chicken from old birds mixed in with plenty of skin and fat - I have heard a comedian refer to it as "what they could scrape out of the chicken's beak").

If I ever eat fast food (a rare "indulgence") I will only order the chicken sandwiches with real breasts. Preferably grilled versus fried. The family loves KFC and every now and then I'll bring home some of the chicken tenders. Once they switch to serving "fritters" instead of real chicken breast, we are outta there.

i have had the chick filet southern style, and i have had the McD's--there is NO comparison. the chick filet is awsome, the mcD's is disgusting!
