I am sooooo thinking tomorrow will be chili cheese dogs and baked beans - maybe some fries or onion rings? May use Jaxon's Spanish sauce instead of the canned hotdog chili I have. Vidalias too!

I've never heard anybody frying cauliflower before! Do you do it like potatoes?

My kids just asked me today when I was going to make a batch of spanish sauce.

We spent the better part of the afternoon and evening at our county fair. We supported the 4-H beef booth today. Then picked up food at our fav Mexican joint in town for supper to bring home. Tomorrow we'll go back to the fair and support the elephant ear, roasted corn on the cob, breaded tenderloins the size of dinner plates and BBQ ribs booths.

Nomad I ordered a case of GA peaches today from my grocery. SSShhhh don't tell my kids until I have had a chance to eat at least one please! My price is $36 for the case of 24. I'll head up to northern IN close to the MI line to get a couple of bushels to can up for the winter in a few weeks.

Now yesterday I was more ambitious. Made a huge stockpot of chili.

4 lbs. lean ground beef, pinto and kidney beans, green peppers, celery, a dozen cut-up roma tomatoes, onions, big can of crushed tomatoes, 5 8oz. cans of tomato sauce, heavy on the beans.

But laziness was my motive. Froze 80% of it in plastic containers. Unthaw it, nuke it, and all that hard labor of crushing the crackers! What a "gas" it will be, eating up all that chili!

Yesterday dinner ended up as Chimichangas. Turned out good and have one left for my lunch today. I was missing my lettuce to put under it but hey, the store is not close to home so we do what we have to. I'm thinking raviolis and pierogies with red sauce tonight. Probably have cheese toast and a side of cucumbers and squash--we are loaded with the garden veggies right now. No red tomatoes yet but soon.

Everybody's out tonight, except me and the dog. I had leftover pasta from last night - Penne with diced chicken, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms and peas in a white wine and cream sauce. Glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, feet up, relaxing in front of the TV. I'm enjoying myself

Now that's my kind of support!
