In a rush and way too hot already in SE Florida, so it's sauteed kale with fresh spinach and tomatoes, then bruschetta with garlic and a quick freshly made (by the food processor...lol) pesto sauce with fresh basil, garlic, extra virgin, regular nuts and scallions.
We'll have a piece of taleggio cheese (pricey, but it's home to me so sometimes I can't resist) with bread and a little fruit salad.
We open a Blackstone Chardonnay, cheap but very decent wine for every day occasion. And as all the bottles in this house, it got no chance of seeing tomorrow...
Been gone most of the day to Charlottee Motor Speedway to check out what all was going on. Lots and lots of walking and playing so we are pretty tired. I made some hot dogs and German potatoe salad and that was dinner!
Food turned out okay -- nothing to write home about. I didn't get to grill my shrimp because the indoor grill I ordered has not arrived, so ended up having to sauté them in a little butter. Sometimes I wish I lived in a house rather than an apartment
The flavors are still pretty good though. Very tangy with a spicy aftertaste. The asparagus looks dead, but it's honestly the best part of the entire dish. The shiitake mushrooms are pretty good too. Pardon the bowl, we have just moved in and not yet had a chance to get some decent dishes
