I'm getting ready to take a trip. I'll likely take granola bars and beef jerky. I'd have to have foods that don't require refrigeration that can withstand heat.
Oh, I guess I should have said it better, I meant what food item you bring/you would like to bring from the places you have visited!
Well, ok, to keep it short, less than 5 items...
I would bring fresh mozzarella and a bunch of Italian cold cuts. And a lot of French pastries. And Spanish turron (sp?).
Bottled water, tootsie pops, gum, grapes....and occasionally, if it's going to be a long day, the weather is hot and we'll be in a hotel at the end of it....a couple bottles of beer kept in the cooler to enjoy at the end of the day while sitting in the hotel room. One for DH and one for me.
ETA - oops looks like I too misinterpreted....hmmmm, need to think more now.
Well, we do grab a lot of Jerky, smoked sausages and other things while traveling. Just as our boys do when coming to visit from California ...just things you don't see locally. Although most things we can get locally...
well since with international travel the only things you can bring back are cheeses, olives, oils, baked goods and the like, that is what i bring back.
now if i am visiting another state, then i will bring back anything that the state is known for and anything different that i couldn't get at home. in fact when anyone comes to visit me, they bring me all kinds of Italian stuff and great bread we can't find here.
Lots of cold bottled water, bananas, chocolate bars, small bag of chips. This is for a fairly short jaunt of 3 or 4 hours. If longer I would pack a regular picnic.
