Default Vick reinstated today

I imagine there are some good opinions out there on Michael Vick being reinstated to play in NFL again today. Personally think what he did was horrible, but don't mind that NFL is allowing him to play. If a team wants to sign him good for them and him. Would love to see him get creamed on the field like when he used to play against the Panthers.

He did his time. He should be allowed to continue making a living doing what he is qualified to do. But I think he should have to give a portion of his salary to the Humane Society for the rest of his professional life.

These NFL players are just people so they are prone to doing stupid things. Add to that an occasional lack of education and an obscene amount of money, at a relatively young age, and voila! A recipe for adventure / disaster.

I hope he does well in the remaider of his NFL career and I hope he learned a lesson.

Well, I don't think one needs an education to know that dog fighting is horrific. Nor do I feel inclined to "forgive" the heinous behavior of anyone just b/c they are young and have too much money.

It doesn't take a college degree to know that some things are wrong. And the outrageous behavior of way too many sports figures cannot be excused as part of a societal "learning curve" when the behavior is ILLEGAL.

On a relative basis, it makes sense. You have guys who killed people (DUI) who got much less punishment and are still playing today...Leonard Little, for example. Doesn't mean the decision is right or wrong, just that it makes sense compared to the punishment for others by the league.

Now that would be a great think to do.

Donte Stallworth is the other one who is getting off easy after his DUI and killing someone. Still haven't heard what the Browns are going to do about him. Only have heard about Vick. While what Vick did was horrible, if they let these other two play after killing people, Vick should be able to play.

Kind of a sad statement on society that Vick is villified for what he did but the other ones are kind of under the radar. But I do know some fans were upset about Little's return. Apparently not enough of them though.

Agreed. I think in Vick's case though it has more to do with the intentional nature of what he did and the lack of regard for life it took to commit the crime. Vick was also more well known than the other guys which made the media just eat it up. Either way, I'm sure there are a lot of players that can't wait to lay into him on the field. This alone will get people cheering in the stands.

I am sure you are right. And I do think when someone has paid their debt - he did the crime and the time - they should be allowed to continue in their profession, unless it involved fraud and they deal with money, LOL.
