Default Vick on 60 Minutes

Once a liar always a liar. He says he did not care about his career when he got caught! BS!
What are your thoughts about this coldhearted, dog killer interview?

I've already stated my thoughts on Mike Vick himself. This thread I'll keep open for a while. We already have seven threads going on this guy-that's plenty. And I'm not even counting the Philadelphia Eagles team thread OR what is going on with the Pennsylvania forum.

I realize this is about as serious an issue as one could get regarding the NFL. The other threads have all the bases covered, I believe, on this ordeal. And pretty soon some of these threads are going to be merged. But I'm ok with this as a thread for the 60 Minute interview only.

Want to believe that anyone can change for the better (but that isn't always the case) and I'd like to believe that in some way he could make a positive contribution going forward in helping prevent just one dog from being tortured in the reprehensible way that he so gleefully participated in previously.

However, he didn't ever indicate in the interview that he was sorry for the pain and suffering he inflicted on these animals, only remorseful for the harm he did to his career and family. To me, Vick does not seem the least bit sorry for what he did but only laments the loss of fame and fortune that his spin team (agents, PR, NFL, HSUS) looks to restore and profit from. The only person that seems sincere with any of this appears to be Tony Dungy.

Of course anyone who hates animals and especially dogs as he does is not a kind hearted person. He had/has sadistic tendancies. What he did were horrendously cruel acts. We know that, however never once in the interview did he mention about being really sorry for the dogs themselves and admit how they suffered at his hands. I felt the whole interview, he was looking for sorrow and pitty. He won't get mine that is for sure. I could see his cold hearted soul thru his eyes and that he was lying.

He's back in the league. He did his time. He SAID he was sorry. The jail time should had gave him enough time to think about what he has done. His own actions led to himself to lose millions of dollars. The man is just trying to get a second chance.

GIVE THE MAN A CHANCE AT REDEMPTION !!!!!!!!!

One of the things that kind of surprised me was the presence and comments of Wayne Pacelle, president of Humane Society of the United States.

The guy on the spot is not only Mike Vick, but also former Indianapolis coach Tony Dungy, but I can't think of another man who could do a better job at mentoring. I was satisfied with Tony's approach on this. He has a SOLID reputation and he is really putting that reputation on the line for this guy.

I'm ok with the interview in general, I have always thought James Brown, who interviewed Vick, to be one of the better NFL media guys out there.

It's a tossup with me regarding Vick himself in regards to his handling of the interview. I imagine a bunch of people were drilling the message in Vick's head to show contrition, show remorse, say all the right things, etc., etc. We'll see.

I wonder how much the Humane Society was paid off by the NFL to claim they support him?

It IS surprising to see that Mr. Pacelle is kind of taking the high road on this issue.
