Default The Official 2009 College Football Thread

So I was thinking instead of doing a week by week thread like last year we could just have a single thread on what's going in College ball world, that way if some one wants to reference something that happened in September and it's now November, we don't have to re-drag old threads.

So some of you may know I am a NCSU fan, I'm really excited to see how our QB, Russell Wilson will fare this year, and whether or not he decides to stay or enter the MLB draft. Some bad news regarding us is Nate Irving, Linebacker, will miss this season.

My hope is to win the ACC this season, as well as beating our "in state friends".

I also somewhat like the Texas Longhorns being that I once visited Austin and it reminded me of Raleigh, where NC State is, and I got to see their Stadium and bought a Longhorn hat. The Wolfpack however, always come first.

I am excited and not just about Texas, it should be an interesting season for many teams. Can Florid repeat, will Notre Dame actually be good, how about USC after they lost Sanchez. So many stories cant wait.

My general rule is to pull against the NC ACC schools since they all like to try and look down on my school. But I always pull for you guys against UNC. Wilson is a good QB and I think TOB is a better X's and O's guy than Butch Davis. I look for it to start to come together this year.

I'm waiting for Penn State to hopefully have a good year, if they have some talented receivers to replace last year's and Daryl Clark "matures" as a quarterback.

That was always the school I pulled for growing up before I really started getting into CFB and before I went off to school myself. I think it was just the jerseys, always loved Paterno, LaVar Arrignton brought me in as well...he was just a beast.

I did get the chance to meet/shake hands with Paterno my junior year of high school. I had weighlifting class and was sitting there between sets when Paterno walked in. I quickly found something for him to sign, shook his hand and talked to him a few minutes. It was awesome. Really nice guy, down to earth, etc.

He was there to recruit our QB. CJ Leak. I played with CJ for 2 years and Chris Leak for one year (I was a senior he was a freshman). CJ should have taken Paterno's (or at least Bowden's) offer instead of going down to Wake.

As a Tarheel fan, I can honestly say I'm worried about our game with yall this year. Even though we are much improved over last year, State is too. Cant wait to watch!

I'm a Trojan fan and what makes me worry most is not the 8 new starters on defense, I think our defense will be fine, it's our quarterbacking. If Aaron Corp doesn't get better soon, we may have to start the season with true freshman Matt Barkley. Thank God we start with San Jose State.

Another concern is what seems to be a tradtional loss to a Pac-10 opponet. It's funny, I fear Oregon State University more then I do the other OSU.

Thats whats amazing and shows how great of a coach Carroll is. Every year it's like well they lost so much how can the compete, then you go out and win 11 or 12 games.

I thought Mustain would be the starter for sure? He's such a doosh.

Fear Autzen Stadium this year, esp with those Pac10 refs, right 'cuda?

Don't get me started with the Pac-10 refs. They are the worse...well, except at that OU game...they were great in the end.
