Mazda is the cousin to Ford (same company I believe)- I own a Mazda and my dad has been driving Ford's since the 80's (or possibly before I was born). I'm not bashing because I don't recall any problems that he's had with his Fords but maybe he was fortunate- who knows. Anyway, about the fusion- I don't have an answer to your question but I suspect it was just a pretty car (nothing special inside) and I think it was ford's way of trying to reach out to the younger gen. (Notice how I said my dad has a history with Ford)...We have ford dealerships all over town and I have yet to meet someone with a fusion.

I would say go with a Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata , or Toyota Camry . American cars suck . Big time .

The Fusion is an American car only in the loosest sense of the word.

Default Fusion is a very nice car. Coworker has three family members with a Fusion.

By the way, they all love their cars and purchased them at really fair prices. They are as reliable as most vehicles. Honda and Toyota are riding on the reputation set 15 years ago. Domestic vehicles are as good as Foreign companies.

I bought a Fusion in january and have been very pleased with it. I previously owned a Subaru and a Toyota Corolla ( I had the corolla for 9yrs) I haven't had any problems with the car and as for gas mileage.. I am still getting used to it but I came from a 4cylinder corolla to a V6 car so I am not the best to judge.. I looked at the Camry and Accords and realized I could get a fully loaded Fusion for a cheaper price than a Camry or Accord with less options. I have been pleased with my purchase.

Warning. If you buy a Ford product the seat covering material is very poor quality and can develop holes in a couple of years.

I have a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu LT-1 that I have been quite pleased with. I considered a Fusion, but like the looks of the Malibu better. Another poster said the seat covering was of poor quality. I can vouch for that. A co-worker has a Fusion and the cloth material (lower line base model) was well, just flimsy.

Nice bringing up a 3 year old thread. Wondering what the OP got and how it has held up.

Hopefully he got a Ford Fusion. They are very nice. I have a new Ford Fusion Hybrid and love it. For the poster that suggests that the material used for the seats develops holes...my family has had Fords since I even knew about cars and yet not one has had any problems with that.

It makes me wonder what people can do to destroy the seats? Regardless, I have been very impressed by the newest Ford Fusion - the hybrid and non-hybrid versions.
