Before trading it in on a 2014 Escape, my wife's Liberty did pretty well in ice and snow with the Firestone Destination LE tires, quite and smooth ride. They are rated high and reasonably priced. We got them on a "buy 3 get one free" sale. On my Ranger I have the Destination ATs but they are a lot more bumpy.
