Now that all of the above-noted Ford products have been discontinued, Grandpa and Grandma will probably buy a Buick. Even if that Buick is FWD, at least they will take comfort in buying "an American car".
Nah. When they buy FWD, they get an Avalon or Camry. The Buicks are too "sporty" for them. They can still get RWD with the Charger/300 though.
Ok, I did not mean 100% of people who drive Town Cars are old. But in general, that is the case. It is exactly why they are discontinuing the Town Car.
In general, they're old and have "larger" physiques. Younger folks that are larger appear to go with full-size SUV's if they can afford one. If they can't, yeah, you'll see them in one of the prehistoric Panther platform cars.
That's funny, because according to every website known to man including the US Department of Energy website says the Lincoln Town Car gets 16 mpg in the city and 24 on the hwy. 19 mpg combined. Where are you getting your stats from?
One other thing, if you live in a hot climate like Florida you are going to get worse gas mileage than a cooler climate because running the A/C all of the time burns gas quicker.
Wel,l from a pretty reliable pair of towncar owner... My parents for starters. And yes, from trips I drove them around, again, their towncar. Yup, believe everything the Department of energy tells you.
Surprisingly the 4.6 engine Town Cars got pretty good MPG's. Slightly higher than what the manufacturer states.
Some people I hear would get anywhere from 24-28 MPG highway and 17-20 city.
That's really good for a V8 and a car that weighs 4,050lbs. The newer one's weigh a little more, but still got around the same mileage.
