I have a 2011 Ford F150 SC 4x4 pickup with the new 5.0 motor and 6 speed auto transmission. I really like this truck but have question on tranny.
When driving in town or slow speeds, under 10 mph, the tranny seems to go back and forth between 6th and 5th. Shouldn't this be electronic and not so noticable. It is not loud , I can feel itand makes a noise when doing this.
Would it be okay to push in tow/haul button and drive at low speed with this , or is that a bad idea?
I still have 38000 mile bumper to bumper warranty just don't want to have to take in.
You should be down shifting it and selecting the correct gear at speeds under 45mph.
You shouldn't be using 5th or 6th when going under 45mph, your transmission is hunting for the right gear and you are bogging the engine.
If it was a manual would you shift it into 5th or 6th at 10mph or would you still be in 3rd or 4th?
stay out of the over drive gears when at speeds of 45mph or lower.
Yes the tranny is electronic and you need to take to the dealer to get the latest flash to correct the issue. You'll ask for TSB 11-10-15. This applies to trucks made before April 18, 2011

That said, some of the ideas posted above by other forum members probably are correct, and you will probably find the answer to your problems because of what they have suggested.
