Maybe when I get a bit older a car of that type will be more up my alley although at that point I might as well look at M, AMG, or RS cars.
Stock Taurus SHO is already very fast and powerful.

But yeah I know what you mean, light cars are fun, but they always give me a 'tin can' feel.

I like cars with some weight!

These things dip into the 12's with a tune which is pretty ridiculous with a car of this size.

Now that would be a Cool Car Ford should sell in the $40K range esp. when it looks and performs almost as well as a exotic that sells for $140K+
The 3.5EB can't fit in the Fusion.

You're crazy if you think it rode like a truck. It is at or near the top of its class in terms of ride quality. As for not seeing the front fender and jumping a curve, it sounds like you are just not a good driver. And to top it off saying your Taurus is better than the new one, I just have to assume you are trolling.

My SHO is at the same time the best and worst car I have ever owned. Practically gave up trying to get Ford to fix the transmission per their own TSB. They just keep singing the same tune ("the dealer isnt experiencing what you are describing so there is nothing we can do"). Luckily it only happens once a week and only in slow stop and go (think schoolzone) driving. Once warned up and on the open road it is such a fun car to drive.

Even though it is a Ford, I kinda like it. I'm even more pleased by the fact that it finally has some on par competition from GM.

I was so excited to see the G8 was coming back - until I saw it. It that really the best they can do for Chevy's top performance sedan? Yawn. At least the G8 kinda sorta had some styling. Nothing dramatic, but at least some attempt was made.

The SS is a good competitor for Taurus SHO because they are both bland and boring but both decent performers. Personally I think this is a better looking (less ugly) car than the Taurus, but equally boring looking.

Are we talking about the car in the pic? That is the new Impala, the SS is the one based on the G8. The upcoming SS is going to be overpriced IMO but, the new Impala is a HUGE improvement over the current Impala. Minus the steering wheel.

My bad. I thought it was the new SS. Impala is not much of a competitor for SHO and is not in the same price range. SHO will compete with the SS. From the picture I saw a while back the SS will look much like Impala.
