Flew down to Dallas to pickup a 2013 Ford Taurus SHO with 5.5k miles on it. Bought it from Sewell Cadillac, a top notch dealer that I highly recommend. The previous owner traded it in for a new Cadillac ATS, a downgrade in my books. Was put into service 10/21/13, so plenty of factory warranty left. Looks like a brand new car. Paid $30,800, plus tax. Almost $17K off sticker. Nothing I could find was this new and nice for $30K.

Has the Performance Package, Navigation, Multi-Contoured Seats (massage), and sunroof.

Drove it 800 miles back to Colorado in one day, loved it. Averaged 23.5MPG with 80mph set on the cruise. Very quiet and smooth highway cruiser.

The car is large, but I like it. I like the higher sitting position and large trunk. The car doesn't drive large, has excellent road manors.

I'll tune it eventually to add almost 100hp more. A tuned SHO does mid 13's @ 102mph at Bandimere with over 8,000' DA. Will smoke just about any N/A car due to the high HP loss on non-FI engines. At sea level, tune SHOs are doing 13 flat at 106mph, some get into the high 12s. So a tune wakes up these EcoBoost motors a lot.

Anyways, definitely check this car out if you are looking at G37s, TLs, etc. I couldn't find a better car that offers the luxury and performance for a slightly used $30K AWD sedan.

At the dealer waiting for my inspection:

They are nice cars, but I drove one last year and did feel like it was too big for me. Even with the awd it had torque steer, which was disappointing to me. Nothing like a rwd V8. Maybe in a few years I'll take another look at one.

Congrats and enjoy it!

Nice car!

I'd get myself in trouble with that.

My understanding is the prototypes were pushing 500HP but that was causing the PDU (transfer case) to explode.

Nice purchase! Every now and then I get into my old man mode and look at more practical/comfortable transport to support/replace my 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe in the future and this car always gets on my list. I'd like to hold onto the Genesis but being recently married if the kids start coming its going to have to go.

Yeah, at the prices they go for they're a heck of a buy. And it's not really like they depreciate that much, it's just the discounting Ford does to move them.
