It is odd how much the 1987-1993 Fox body have appreciated compared to the 94-98 SN95 5.0 and Early SOHC 2-valve 4.6 Modular heck can find a decent 99-04 Edge styled SN-95 4.6 GT all day in very nice condition in the $8K-$10K Range and they (99-04 GT) had more power from the factory and are just as easy to mod.

Plus them being newer means less age related issues they are the ones that have seemed to have bottomed out while the Fox-body have appreciated.

While the 94-98 5.0/4.6 seem to currently be at the low end of the desirably spectrum right now though and if you are going to modify it anyways best stating point in terms of finding a decent starting point chassis and drivetrain.

I always did like the look of the 96-98 GT Convertible with the optional factory 17inch wheels they seemed to be a great street cruiser if not looking to build something over the top or planning to take to the track rather them seem like a fun 2ND or 3RD car that would make a decent summer daily driver.

Looks nice though, and a heck of a steal if its mechanical shape matches the interior/exterior condition and if that odometer reading can be verified.

You don't like the halo front seats? I used to have folks begging to buy mine from my 86.....

I actually swapped a set into my 87 GT because I liked them so much better.

I'm with you on the quarter glass and the dash though.... those were both janky.
Just do like a friend did. He swapped a complete black interior from a 92 into his 86, along with the quarter windows and trim. Then topped it off with some recovered black SVO seats and a SVO steering wheel. Talk about a perfect combination in a Fox interior.

I really do like the halo style seats too, so I put the headrests from an Escort GT on my 02 GT seats. God I need to get that car running again.........

Ohh, I see, I'm more of an F-body guy than a mustang guy (still like the pony cars though)

Amazing what it took to break 200MPH back in early 90's but nice video on a classic Fox-body

Damn it OP you know what you have done. I now find myself searching for Fox 5.0s whenever I wander over to Craigslist. It will take days to get this out of my system.

You know an LSX 5.3 is dirt cheap[LS1s are expensive] and will tuck right in or there is a 331 Ford Windsor build. Add Tremec be happy.

Years ago, I think it was the '87 Silver State Classic (the year Big Red dominated it) I remember seeing a Fox body hitting 200mph. It didn't finish the race though due to tire issues. Can't remember the team name but the co-driver was an actress from the 80's. If I had a VHS player still I could look thru the tape to see it.

I remember the name of the actress now, it was Marsha Mason. Can't find anything about the car though.
