What gets me here is you pay big money for a Lincoln and alot of problems like recalls. I would never own a Lincoln.

News, DETROIT (Reuters) – Ford Motor Co is recalling about 20,000 new vehicles in North America, mainly its heavy duty pickup trucks, due to the chance that an electrical short could cause a fire, Ford and U.S. federal regulators said on Thursday.

Ford will inform owners of its F-series pickups and small sports utility vehicles Edge and Lincoln MKX of the potential problem by January 10, according to a filing with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

For what its worth they nipped it in the bud. What more can you ask of them in this situation? The actual malfunction is trivial and there are no reported issues linked to the problem. They are taking care of it in a textbook fashion. At least Ford is a company that actually DOES recognize that no one is perfect, including themselves. So instead of dismissing the issue they take care of it in a responsible and efficient manner. Much more than can be said for other certain auto companies...

No one ever said Ford was beyond a racall. 11 years ago it was the firestone tire debacle. At least they don't try to hide it or cover it up like Toyota of build a crappy vehicle like GM.

I like my Lincoln. Granted repairs are not cheap but it is a solid car.

Seriously? Would you rather they ignored the problem and kept it under wraps?

Basically the recall has changed from years ago when Ford bascially ignored the ignition fire problems for years until they started losing suits.Same as the exploer problems of roll over becauwee of tire pressure recommendations. I would bet we see more thingsw like monitors of pressure that that brought.

I test drove the Lincoln MKS...great car--almost got it. I'd own one in a minute.

Literally for one minute right before it ignites into flames. I'm just joking, but this shows that all manufacturers experience recalls and none of them is perfect (far from it). All fanboys whether Ford, GM, Toyota, Honda, Chrysler, Hyundai, BMW, etc are all equal parts idiot.
