Anyone ever hear of a valve spring falling into the engine and doing a lot of damage? It happened to me and I have to get a new used engine. Any thoughts on this?

If my memory serves me right the valve spring might? break in half...stay inside the valve cover...the valve could drop down inside on to the piston and cause havoc before the engine stops.
The term is "suck a valve"

This is probably what happened and busted the piston and scored the cyl walls besides pounding the S*** of the combustion chamber of the head.

Those things are known to happen. Steve
