Why is it that the people I associate Lincoln Town Cars are senior citizens? Don't young people get them?

that is just my observation.

I visit a few Town Car forums. I am surprised how many owners are under 25 years old.

Once the younger crowd rides in a larger mid size car such as the Crown Vics and GRand Marquis, then the Lincolns, they understand why their grandparents like them, and many times stop trying to buy the smaller stuff. it's very much a case of not believing the mpg and ride until experiencing it. Once they experience it, it's oh yeah, I like it!

Yeah... same with the Caprices, Impalas, 90s and even the older stuff. Alot of times though the younger crowd tends to make low-riders out of these big American cars... hydraulics, etc.

Alot of young folks around here drive Town Cars, DeVilles, Caprices, etc, but most have been modified to their likings... mostly the older crowd keeps them original.

Ironically, I am in the market for either a 1990-94 Lincoln Town Car or a 1991-93 Caprice Classic that has NOT been modified and I am only 33, but I like other cars too like Accords and even 4wd trucks... also want a 90s Toyota 4wd truck.

Around here we see a good mix of ages and styles. The seniors have them and drive them to church and grocery. The low income crowd get them one step away from tow truck bait and drive them till they break. The custom crowd keep them clean but add the sound system, window tint and the big wheels.

The fourth most viewed style is that of the derby car. Strangely enough, for all their bulk, they don't seem to make it too far.

I have been hooked on big cars from the get go. I learned how to drive in Town Cars... haven't owned anything smaller than one since then. I am 23 now. Young people are more concerned about image than they are about economics and apparently true comfort. I drive a big grandpa Cadillac... however everyone wants to ride in my car when groups of us go somewhere, strange.

I enjoy a car with handling too much.

I also enjoy not having to cart people around.

I think once you really experience the plush ride of many of these large, luxury cars, you won't go back to something stiff and uncomfortable (unless it's a weekender). I'd much rather ride in an unstylish, comfortable car such as a Cadillac DTS than ride in a vehicle that I would feel like I was beaten up once I arrived to my destination.

Lol having a comfortable car does not equate to always transporting people. However it is obvious that when people are looking to ride somewhere they would rather drive in something relaxing.

Plus when you have an array of vehicles with different driving styles the most comfortable one is always the more practical choice for general daily driving.

I'm young and I like them, but I've also heard them referred to as old people cars as well. Ford products with 4.6 or 5.0 and GMs with LT1s is pretty much what led to the new trend of sporty sedans like Charger, GXP, SHO, etc.
