2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor 6.2 First Drive - Motor Trend
Reading this article makes me wish I lived near a desert to go race this truck.

That is one mean truck, especially with the new V8. I'm not a truck guy but I'd love to have one to hit the dunes with.

I like all the specs on how they stregthened everything underneath to withstand the punishment rather than do the standard typical, "big engine, big tires, raise truck a little, put a pan under the front end, throw on some stripes, and call it a race truck".

The Lighting and SRT10 trucks were pretty awful when you got over the novelty of having all that power (they did look the part though). The Raptor is a truck you can really have a good time in without being restricted to moving in a straight line on a flat surface (at which point you might as well just get a fast car).

I stopped by the local Ford dealer a few weeks back to take a peek at the new 6.2L Raptor they had out front on display. Quite an amazing machine. Its BIG in person, much larger than I thought it would be. Anyways, it looks to be put together really well and has tons of nice features.

Thats pretty incredible performance for a factory truck. In a video they have it blasting over rough desert at 80mph! A powerstroke option would be ideal though.
