Facing a mortgage payment she couldnít afford, a Massachusetts woman allegedly faked the death of her son serving in the military, and eventually faked her own death, to avoid foreclosure.

Donna Larson, 52, was indicted Friday on charges of attempted larceny and perjury, MyFoxBoston.com reports. In 2006, she could no longer make mortgage payments on her West Bridgewater home, so she falsely reported to her mortgage company her son serving in the military been killed, claiming she would use his life insurance policy to pay off the debt, prosecutors allege.
