Suffice it to say, my condo needs to have a new sewer pipe laid under the floor. It will be a huge, messy job and my husband and I are too elderly to have to deal with all the work involved.
I know that sometimes contractors or developers buy these types of properties and then fix them and re-sell them.
I just do not know how to go about finding someone like that. The condo complex I live in is in Arizona and in a very desirable complex. Over half of the units here are AirBnB's.
How would I find someone like that who would be willing to buy it before the digging begins? I am willing to take whatever the loss may be at this point and call it a day.

How....
You put the place on the market and price it to compensate any buyer for the repair of the sewer line.
Disclose the issue and the needed repair.
Don't focus just on contractors. Flippers, or even just people who will not be deterred by repairs, are legit buyers, too.

Oh I had no idea I could do that! Thank you for that valuable advice!
Just curious to know if the extent of the pipe issue is so extensive, wouldn't your homeowner's insurance take care of this, or at least most of it?
No. We called them yesterday and they said no. He said that the sewer backing up into the tub or sink does not count as damage. It would have to back up all over the floor and there would have had to be a claim for that. But that is not what happened.
The HOA asked their insurance company as well and were told the same thing. No. No coverage.
Plus our agent said our policy does not cover utilities.

Be aware that all those AirBnB's will make the apt undesirable to some buyers. Maybe even some investors who want to rent the unit long term - tenants won't like the idea of living in a 'hotel'.
The sewer and water are included in the monthly condo fee.
So I don't know how it is paid.
