Private property sign after foreclosure auction (foreclosed, agent, state, lender)

I noticed a Private Property sign hanging on the front door after two attempts to sell the property in Sheriff Sale.

What does that sign mean?

Does it mean the property went back to bank as REO or does it mean someone bought it in the Sheriff Sale?

Any idea?

Sign by itself means nothing. Could be a freaky real estate agent hired by the lender is worried that squatters have keys to the place or any thing...

Courts generally record the results of foreclosures pretty quickly, some are even set up for online queries, that would be a good place to start looking.

It may just be meant to discourage curious folks from going onto the property.
Many people think a foreclosed home is an open house....
