Default Best day hike in Estes Park?

We'll be visiting in August and want to get in a good day hike in Estes Park, but have no idea where to start. Anyone have a favorite? Thanks!

Try the Twin Sisters, which is right off the Peak to Peak highway heading south from Estes Park (towards Allens Park). It is about 12,500', maybe 12 miles or so round trip, and can easily be done in half a day. It also offers spectacular views of Longs Peak, a fourteener.

That's a great recommendation and a beautiful hike. From one flatlander to another, just make sure you acclimate for a few days to the altitude before making the hike.

Oh, by the way... if you're going to do any hike above timberline, always summit before noon and get off the summit and below timberline after noon. You don't want to get hit by lightning.
