I am a 25 year old female looking to move to Fort Collins from Southern California. Rents here are just too ridiculous and they're only getting higher. I am looking to move sometime in the next 6 months and have done my research on the areas. I have seen a lot that I like but I'm concerned about finding someone who will rent to me.
Unfortunately, my credit score is between 560 and 570. A lot of the major dings are medically related, as I was having some cystic problems and frequented the hospital without insurance. I have never been evicted, asked to end my lease, filed for bankruptcy or have any judgements against me. I have good references from former landlords and am in good standing with a rental agency here that was willing to take a chance with me.
Does anyone know of any places in the Fort Collins area that will rent to me? Are any apartments more lenient than others? I will NOT have a co-signer so, sadly, that won't be an option.
Other than Craigslist and apartments.com, does anyone have any suggestions of where I should look?
I need a 2 bedroom, no more than $1,000 a month that will accept my little 12 pound, well behaved dog.
