No one has mentioned the advantage Ft Collins has in terms of higher education-which trickles down to local public schools.

Boise State, while a great school for football cannot hold a candle to CSU when it comes to academics. No offense (my parents went to BSU back when it was BJC), but CSU is a large State University with some pretty strong programs including one of the best Veterinary schools in the country.

Lived in Ft Collins between 17 and 20. Loved it! It's probably more expensive than Boise but you would have to check on that.

If you haven't already go to greatschools.org and they give school ratings and parent reviews. The schools in Poudre School District are top-notch. You will want to do your due dilligence and talk to parents and visit the schools themselves. There are many different programs offered here from IB to Core Knowledge to Spanish Immersion. It is great here and I think you will be very happy with whichever decision you make.
