Default Local Banking Establishments

I have a couple questions about relocation to Fort Collins, as most people who post in this thread do.

First, I am looking for housing. I know a ton of information can't be exchanged regarding this topic here on the thread, but where can I look for semi-affordable housing? I'm not looking to live in a place typically used for the CSU students, but not looking for a high rise apartment either. Just simple 1 or 2 bedroom houses/apartments for $600-900/month.

I was also curious what the "smaller, local" banks in the Fort Collins area were. I have done some searches online and haven't been able to come up with too many answers. I'm not interested in the US Banks/BofA/Wells Fargo types.

I find these places tend to genuinely care for their customers more and that is what I am looking for.

I look forward to your responses. Thank you!

Mark

When I was in Fort Collins, I banked with First National Bank. Do a google search on First National Bank. I think it's a local bank. But I didn't really care. I just had a checking account. They seemed to be pretty good, though.

As for housing, I think there's plenty of housing in that budget, but being completely away from students probably isn't possible nor is it necessary. I think usually when you're not right up next to campus (e.g. not an area like Elizabeth at Shields --- not an area I'd recommend for non-students), you aren't going to have as many of the "loud partier" type of student to deal with. Look into some of the places out on West Elizabeth by Taft Hill. I lived out that way for a while. It was pretty quiet, although I saw a guy get arrested once. I think apartments around Prospect and Shields such as Heritage Park are pretty decent too, even though that's close to campus. I knew a couple people out near Drake and Shields too. That area seemed OK, but I didn't spend much time there.
