Yeah, I know it's a sports post in the relo forum but there isn't a college basketball forum and the CSU men's team is doing too well to be ignored. It feels good to be able to talk about CSU athletics without having to hang my head in shame all the time. I'll be thrilled if they get into the big dance and make a deep run. Sweet 16 would be awesome.

I don't follow pro basketball as much as I used to, but I like college ball! And yes, nearly all activity in the b-ball sub forum is about the NBA. There are other examples of sports programs in various city sub forums. A thumbs up for starting this one.

Yes! CSU has been doing well lately, not only this season, but the past few seasons they have built a good program making them a drawing card for the kids. Last year their previous coach Tim Miles got them into the tournament, with the Rams coming in with a 20-12 record. When coach Miles resigned and took the job at Nebraska, IMO the thinking was they might slide down the standings somewhat. And what few b-ball prediction sites I looked at, CSU was predicted to finish around third or fourth in the MWC, with UNLV and San Diego State ahead of them.

Didn't happen though. New coach Larry Eustachy has done a great job with this club. Last time I looked their record was 18 and 3, I'll take a peek at the standings and see where they are now. The next couple weeks will be interesting to see how they finish up before the tournament kicks in.

ADD: Right now CSU is 20-4 overall, 7-2 in the conference. New Mexico is one game up with 21-4 overall and 8-2 in the conference.

Speaking of the Rams, I just got through watching the CSU-Missouri NCAA tournament regional. The Rams are playing some great ball, this was HUGE for them! I believe this makes 14 in a row for wins.

Man I wish it were 14 in a row. We hit a 3-3 skid at the end of the regular season and then lost to UNLV in the 2nd round of the Mountain West tournament.

The win over Mizzou was very impressive. The Rams absolutely killed them on the glass, and the Tigers are one of the best rebounding teams in the nation. Dorian Green had an awesome night. CSU won without much production from Colton Iverson and Jon Octeus was huge off the bench.

If the Rams can get the turnovers under control and hold Louisville's points off turnovers down the game will be close.
