Hi there--

I've lived in Fort Collins for three years and have just graduated from a CSU master's program. I'm looking to move and I've found an affordable apartment just off Overland and Elizabeth. I'd be moving from Old Town, so it'll definitely be a change, but since I no longer need to be near campus I'd like to try the more rural-feeling side of town. I'm hoping it'll be peaceful and pretty.

Any thoughts on what it's like living over there? Pros/cons? I have both a car and a bike.

Thanks!

I have lived near Overland and Prospect for 6+ years and I really like the west side. It is easy access to road and mountain biking, and the reservoir. I also like the quick access to the Poudre Canyon. Shopping at King Soopers on Elizabeth and Taft is pretty convenient.

You will no longer have the short walk to a large variety of restaurants, but the bike ride to Old Town is easy. The biggest negative is the amount of time it takes to get to I-25, especially during peak traffic times.

Thanks, Mike! I don't use 25 that often, and I would like to start using my bike more, so it should all work out fine. I have neglected the mountains the whole time I've been here, and I'm definitely going to change that! Assuming all goes well with my rental application, that is...
