Smile Eaton, Colorado is a good bet

Hi, saw your post. I live in Greeley, and commuted to Loveland for several years. You really don't want that with the winter weather if you can stay away.

My first impression was to say look in Eaton. It's a very small town, and some of the early settler buildings still standing, as well as earlier settler homes still in really good shape. It's just a few minutes down Hwy. 85 to UNC from Eaton.

Windsor is too expensive. So is Loveland. The commute from Fort Collins isn't something I'd wish on anyone, especially during Winter.

My husband and I were looking to relocate from Greeley to Eaton if we can afford it.

Stay out of East Greeley and downtown. The UNC campus is actually just south of downtown and isn't in too bad an area at all. Housing in Greeley itself is up for grabs right now; it's definitely a buyer's market. West Greeley and some parts of south Greeley are okay, but I'd definitely take a good look at Eaton. A commute from west Greeley would take the same amount of time from Eaton. Eaton doesn't have that many homes for sale right now; west Greeley has alot to choose from and you can practically write your own ticket for the new construction.

A little further up north is Ault, CO which is also a smaller town but a bit more of a commute up Hwy 85.

Good luck.

We ended up renting in Windsor and love the town! Our house sold quicker than we thought- 4 weeks - so everything is working out. Now I just need to find a teaching job. I'll probably sub for the remaining part of the year in the different districts.
