It looks like all of your questions have been answered, but I'd just like to add that the Fort Collins/Loveland area is a great place to live. People here are really big into education so our schools are great. Housing here is very affordable considering what it costs to live in other parts of the state and the quality of life that is here.

Ft Collins to Greeley would take about 30-40 minutes. All of it is interstate or 4 lane roads. Really not a bad drive except the traffic gets busy, especially around the I25 Loveland exit. There are also several other ways to get there depending on what area of the city you are going to.

Hello.... I'm visiting starting on Wednesday 10/3 and would like ideas and/or recommendations from you about where to go and what to see?
I'm considering moving to the area for retirement and feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help. em ![]() |

I would drive up the poudre canyon which is northwest of Fort Collins. The road winds up the canyon right by the river. I would also drive around horsetooth mountain park, and up the Big Thompson canyon going up to Estes Park. Once in Estes Park you could visit Rocky Mountain National Park. These will all be spectacular this time of year due to the aspens turning colors. What other activities do you enjoy?

THanks Tom...
I walk for exercise and health, hiking, reading for fun, working out, technology, finding and enjoying good places to eat out, dancing and generally activites that involve mixing with people. |

Well as far as hiking and exercise the places I mentioned would be great for that. There are also many hiking/biking trails throughout the city that are nice. I would go to fcgov.org. This is the fort collins city web page. There they list what kind of activities are going on in the city this next week. They also list activities at the lincoln center. Then I would go to budweisereventscenter.com. This also offers much entertainment and has a schedule of events. I would then suggest a tour of the budweiser beer plant located just off of I25 and Mountain Vista. As far as eating goes, The Melting Pot in Fort Collins is one of my favorites. It is a little pricey but it is really good food. It will take you a couple of hours to finish a full meal. (call for reservations ahead of time themeltingpot.com). If you go to old town there are many great food places down there. Anything from sushi to pizza. If you like steak there is a new place that just opened called the Texas Cattle Company. This is located along college ave on the south end of town. Then as far as dancing goes, if you like country dancing I would suggest the sundance, located on east Mulberry. Stay away from there on Tuesday and Thursday nights because that is when the really young crowd is there. I think they may even be having rodeo's on Friday and Saturday nights right now. I have not been there for quite sometime but it often draws an older crowd. Hope this helps you out. Have a great time in our city!!!

The schools seem equivalent and the natural beauty seems similar.

I really have only lived in Ft. Collins ... but my impression was always that loveland was a little move for retirees and ft. collins a younger demographic. I could be wrong. I was also under the impression that loveland would have even fever jobs that ft. collins. Honestly, the open space that used to exist between the two cities is pretty much gone now ... so its literally almost one city now, IMHO. They have always been only 10 min apart (from s. side FC to n.side LL).
