My father, Jacob Reichert, Jr. was born on 17 November 1922 in a home birth near an "unincorporated city" in the Fort Collins area. Was Laporte incorporated in 1922?

No, because it is still not an incorporated city. It is what the Census Bureau calls a "CDP".

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laporte%2C_Colorado

Do you have his actual birth cert ? If not, you may be able to get one from the County

My grandfather immigrated in the early 1900's. His name was George Reichert and was Volga Deutsch from Saratov, Russia. He and my grandmother settled in Ft. Morgan and had a farm there. Relative? Reichert is not an extremely common name. My mother was born in 1929.

Laporte may be a "yes" since it was not at that time, and is still not, incorporated. There are other potentially unincorporated communities "in the Fort Collins area", such as Bellvue (to the NW), and Masonville and Stout (to the SW).

Maybe a search of census records would give more details to narrow the location. You might get a little more information if this was posted in the Fort Collins area subforum...

My 2x great-grandparents Reichert lived with their son, Johann Georg "George" Reichert (1877-1953) during the 1910 census. Johann Georg married Katharina Elisabeth Miller in 1899. They had 9 children (4 sons and 5 daughters). Is this your grandfather?!
