The best kept secret about the front range is the wonderful winters with sunny days, not a ton of snow that sticks around, and the need to not have to wear much of a coat. I guess it was too much of a best kept secret for you .
Last year was miserable. I'm glad we are back to a more "normal" winter. Although, is it just me, or has it seemed colder than usual?

We didn't really have a "January Thaw" this year like we usually do. Many years, there are days in January up in the 60s. The warmest day in Ft. Collins this January was the 5th, with a high of 51.

A lot of people move here from the Great Lakes and they are like wow the weather is so good here, now that's a snowy region, the frozen tundra from the Dakotas out to the windy chills of Chicago and frozen lake effect in Ohio. Colorado's pretty dry, it's out West remember but as long as you go higher in elevation and West of the divide you'll get a lil more snow. I just wouldn't know what to do there besides ski/snowboard all day.

Default Colorado Weather

We are definitely a high desert. Snow is not that common and generally only January and February are all that cold. This year seemed especially dry, since I only had to scrape my car windows twice.

Oddly enough, I thought last summer seemed more humid than normal, but I am from Pueblo and it is extremely dry and hot down south.

We last got 4-5' of snow here on the Front Range 2 years ago. We get blizzards like that once every 15 years or so.
Much to learn about your new home...
