Any short hikes, say in the 5 mile or less round trip area, in the Fort Collins area or from their to Laramie.

Not knowing what kind of terrain or class rating you want www.hikingproject.org and www.alltrails.com are good starting points.

Horsetooth Mountain is about 5 miles roundtrip, but it's a short Class 3 scramble with moderate exposure if you want to go to the top of the rock.

Closer to Laramie there's Vedauwoo and the Snowy Range Mountains.

Several options in the area:

Horsetooth Mountain Park has many various trails, which allows one to mix and match to do a few miles or several.

Also, there is a short trail on the east side of Horsetooth Reservoir, which you can extend a bit by crossing the highway and looping around.

Bobcat Ridge near Masonville.

Blue Sky Trail, with the trail head at the south end of Horsetooth Reservoir.

Coyote Ridge just south of Fort Collins.

Devil's Backbone just west of Loveland.

Pinewood Reservoir and Carter Lake just southwest of Loveland.

And, between FT Collins and Laramie, check out:

Eagle's Nest near Virginia Dale.

Mt. Margaret near Red Feather Lake.
