Good points above about trying to understand the sickness. It could be coming from a surprising source that might be eliminated. At least, it's worth investigating and brainstorming. That'd be something if the main problem could be resolved or heavily minimized.

Wow! Best wishes that you get control of this thing!

You're situated in one of the best places in the country for medical help, so I hope you're using it well.

I had a super-duper brain tumor that made the medical journals/films several years ago, and the neurosurgeon who initially discovered it said he only knew of three hospitals in the country that would likely attempt the surgery, and one was in Denver (Swedish Medical). The others were in Rochester, MN and Boston. Lots of excellent hospitals and doctors in the Denver/Ft Collins area.

If this illness of yours is brought on by stress, I'd think there would be some meds that would help the stress go away. Have you tried that?

I like the points others are making about chickens. (Not that I have anything against chickens.) Is that something you added before the first illness? Were you in the same home for the first one? If you haven't already done it, I'd make a list of all the recent changes in your life leading up to the first illness, then try eliminating them for awhile. You might find something that's contributing to your problems.

Any chance of sweet talking a family member into flying out for a week when necessary? If you can afford it, offer to buy the ticket. How could they refuse? Free plane ride, free room and board.... If not them, and if you don't have a close friend locally who might volunteer, look into in-home health care. These should only be considered a temporary fix, as you don't want to be saddled with this for the rest of your life.

Best of luck!
