Question Insider opinion?

My husband and I are planning the big move to CO from southern CA in December, along with our 1 year old son.. I have sifted through post after post on here, as well as other sites, and I am still undecided as to where to live. lol.
My husband is in law enforcement, and will be applying to various agencies. We are hoping he gets hired in the Fort Collins area, as they have the highest pay rate in the area.. I'm hoping to attend either UNC in Greeley, or University of colorado at Denver, depending on where DH gets a position...
Big city, or small town, is not really an issue... We simply want a safe neighborhood for our family.. We are looking to rent, more than likely an apartment, until we get a good sense of the area.. We are looking to spend less then $1200 a month on rent, but something a little newer would be nice.. Any advice/opinions? All are greatly appreciated!

We have a friend that just found a house to rent in the waterglenn subdivision for 1000 a month. It is a 3 bedroom 2 bath. Lots of kids in that neighborhood and close to the interstate. My point is really that there are houses out there in safe neighborhoods within your price range. Good Luck.
