Try Santa Ana.

North College is not FC's best area - trailer parks and such. But it's still not so bad. Go the JAX all the time. My one bad expericence was going to the park near the river in the north end of town. It was full of very aggressive bums. Got to expect that however in a town with a liberal leaning government. Too many programs to attract the helpless. Throw out bird seed and what do you suppose you'll get.

LOL... Ever been to Boulder? They have ten times the number of "aggressive bums" compared to Fort Collins.

The dntn is very charming. (FC, College and Mountain) Loveland's is nice too, but less busy, though I did see a few modern shops and buildings there.

A lot of FC looks very clean. The park called City park was AMAZING. Geese, lake, walking areas, paths, kids play equipment - I was very impressed. Nice older homes around it.

I think FC is an extremely clean town when compared to other cities of similar size.

The downtown Parks & Recreation crews really try hard to keep the old town area clean. They are out before the sun comes up.

Some people say the north side of town isn't clean. I think for what it is, its a fairly clean area. (trailer parks in other parts of the country are not as clean)

The college neighborhoods can get filled up with empty cups, bottles, cans and cases. But hey, without us, Fort Collins wouldn't be the same town.

I agree Jax is a good place to shop. But being in law enforcement for so many years I can tell you bad things happen on the north end of college. If you remember there was a murder in Laporte a year or two ago and a murder and attempted murder at the north end of college in a trailer park also a couple years ago. These are just a couple examples. So I would say North College is probably one of the rougher areas of Fort Collins.

I love your analogy of the bird seed. How true is that?
