Horsetooth Reservoir is probably the most popular, but there are many small lakes around here. We have Boyd Lake State Park, Carter Lake, Lonetree Reservoir, etc...
How big is your boat? People who have moved here from the east say that our lakes are tiny and not really lakes. I've never been east of Omaha, so I don't know what they're talking about.
Kayaks are quite popular here and many lakes don't allow power boating. Also, Colorado considers sailboats to be power boats, even if they don't have a motor.
Here's a link with info on some of our lakes: Wildernet.com - Colorado Lakes & Reservoirs

Horsetooth Reservoir is six miles long and Boyd Lake is four miles long. If you've got money and like to water ski buy a property on Horseshoe Lake just south of Fort Collins. On most summer days you'll have the lake all to yourself
