Smile Visiting FC in early November

Hi everyone

My husband and I have been complaining about living in Southern California for too long and we're FINALLY ready to do something about it.

At the top of our list is Fort Collins, so we'll be in the area the first weekend in November to scout around a bit.

We'll be renting a car; will a 4x4 be necessary at that time of the year? I wouldn't be surprised if my husband says, "Let's go to Vail!" so wondering if we'll need more than a compact car to make the trip.

Any suggestions on best neighborhoods to stay in? Would like to be somewhere with a walkable area so we can explore and get a feel for the city.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Jen

I would not reserve a 4x4 with the rental company unless the forecast a few days out calls for snow along the Front Range. The trip to Vail might be a different story, but if the roads are clear any rental car will get you to Vail and back.

I recommend you stay in a hotel either in Old Town area or near the CSU campus which is within walking distance of Old town. 4 X 4 not needed unles you plan to go off road in snow or mud--a good front wheel drive car will get you anywhere you need to go
