Yes, I DO know people who do not like being a minority or part minority--the ones I know live in New Jersey and Puerto Rico. The Puerto Rican minority are black Puerto Ricans who would like to be more blanco (white). I have 2 kids out of 4 that have this problem with being just part minority.........the other 2 love being who they are. And 1 of the 2 brags about being Puerto Rican (she is 1/2) and her daughter also brags (she is 1/4). The braggers have blond hair and light eyes...... Hey, I like myself and my kids as is and that should be the way it is.

I think regardless of being a good or bad thing is happening and either you accept or move. It should not be surprise that Broward is becoming a Dade county.
Crime is bad in here and it is getting worst. I totally backup Nolefan34 posting. Last edited by Keeper; 09-15-2008 at 04:16 PM. |

Some people including some non-minorities think its a great thing because the newly emerging populace means more democrat votes at local, state and national levels.

Minorities don't cause more crime than whites ...who would ever think that???
Does this mean that whites can go to "minority services" offices and benefits plans in Broward? Or is that a bridge yet to be crossed?Last edited by big mean bear; 09-14-2008 at 09:35 PM. |

Not necessairly. The new Hispanic residents moving into Broward are known to be staunchly conservative. It's peak of "blueness" was probably 1998.

I agree, I am hispanic and most hispanics I know are voting for McCain. Hispanics are true swing voters in Florida(except for Cubans), they don't hold the party loyalties that other races do.

As the old Cubans sadly pass on, their lazy, spoiled, responsibility-free offspring are starting to vote democrat. Also, the influx of Mexicans and Central Americans flooding South Florida (not surprisingly) are also trending the region back towards blue. It's sad these newcomers are voting for the cause of entitlement and indolence, under the skirt of the democrat party. They should immediately learn English and vote Republican just like the Cubans in the 1960's, then they might have a chance of being successful within two or three generations instead of five or six generations. |

Heyyy:
It is strange, what are you saying?. The majority of cubans vote republican, the democrats and especially Barack "Change" Obama sound so populists that it seems like an english version of Castro, more welfare, more taxes, the rethorics of the rich and the poor, we are going to CHANGE, jajajajaj, this is so true. However, the youth always bite those kind of thoughts. |
