Help me plan my budget (rent, car insurance, how much)

I am in Broward College and trying to speed through it as quickly as possible.

What is the minimum salary someone in Broward County could get by on without going hungry, getting the power shut off, etc. ?

I am going to be spending $500 a month on rent and $200 on my car insurance.

Car is paid off. Basically, how much will be spent on groceries, gas, electric, etc?

hard question to answer since everybody's needs are different...depending on where you shop and what kind of food you are used to eating you'll be spending between $50-$80 week if you don't go out and eat at home. Electric shouldn't be more than$80 a month if you're place is $500 rent, which probably means it's a studio, I would ask the landlord what is the average electric bill for that unit.
An easy way to calculate how much you'll need to make to cover the basics is to take your rent and multiply by 3, meaning you'll need $1500 a month to get by while you're here.
