Really, really, REALLY good (and Stone Crabs starting at $17). Chef Entrees (ie, Caribbean spiced salmon) superb as well. Arrive for sunset, eat out back, get Peter as a waiter (sweet kid working his way through law school) and absolutely make sure you get an order of Bimini Bread:

Bimini Boatyard

La Bamba on federal for mexican, great maragaritas, awesome food, the best salsa- I'd stay out of Jalisco, they had 60 some health code violations, and they over salt the food.

Grandpa's in Dania on Fedreal if you're looking for a diner with homestyle cooking, they are also a bakery, dessert will rock, I promise.

Ernie's Barbecue on federal in Fort Lauderdale for great burgers and service, nice bar downstairs too.

Chinese at Rainbow Palace fort lauderdale bayview and oakland, expensive, but the food is worth it.

Indian at Royal India Dania on griffin

Thai Bayshore on Federal just south of comercial or Thai Spice on Commercial

Le Tub in Hollywood HUGE tasty burger on the water fun outdoor atmosphere

French at Le Creperie- most amazing food there, home made soups, desserts... they're on university in Lauderhill

Cajun @ RoseyBaby, live music too!

Now if you want to venture into Miami, check out Sugarcane. This is the best food I've ever eaten as adult. Can't wait to go back, it's that good....

If you go to Dania, you MUST check out Jaxson's.

Legendary ice cream parlor. And they also serve food (burgers, hotdogs, etc)

Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlour and Restaurant in Dania Beach, Florida

In Miami you have way way more options for great food. Fort Lauderdale has a few good places, but mostly just generic chains.

Surprised the Greek Taverna made the list as well.

Did not impress me at all.

To each his own I suppose.

When I start getting guests, they are going to want to go to sea food restaurants. Charley's Crab and The Chart House are close by. Are they recommended? What other sea food restaurants would be recommend. Thanks so much.

Two I mentioned above are Bimini Boatyard & Coconuts - BB is on 17th street causeway & Coconuts is just south of Las Olas & A1A on the intracoastal side. Both would be perfect places to take out-of-towners with outdoor seating and water views.
