If you people got holidays from office then hangout with your friends, go for long drives with friends to some lovely beaches. And enjoy your summer. This is better way to keep yourself cool & calm in this Heat Wave.

Its just a distractor by the news from all the bad stuff thats been happening, giving feeble minds something to talk about. Also could mean setting up for more bad news on the way.

We ARE NOT in a Heat Wave. The Heat Wave is in the middle of the country and the northeast. Florida is experiencing mild temperatures for this time of year. 88-92 degrees is normal for South FL in the summer. Lets stop pretending like we live in Montana.

It is not 103 degrees everyday in South Florida. In fact it's not even close..we sit at about an even 90 (high) in the summer usually. And in fact it's warmer in Northern Florida than it is in South Florida because of gulf stream currents. People in Michigan aren't used to 100 degree temperatures. But they don't need to act like they're going to melt if they go outside, either.

The Heat Wave isn't even in Florida. It was hotter in parts of New England than South Florida. All in all, I think people like to exaggerate Florida's warm climate. Richmond, VA has hotter average temperatures in the summer than Miami.

It was HOT those few days, no doubt about it... but as someone trying to make the move to the sunshine state, I wasn't about to complain lol! I actually sat outside and tried to embrace the heat for a while. I have friends who live on the intercoastal in Fort Lauderdale, and they said they were much more uncomfortable when they visited relatives in Orlando a few weeks back... so the ocean breeze must really make a difference. For me, if Florida wasn't somewhat hot on a regular basis, it wouldn't have all the reptiles, insects, noisy birds and treefrogs, tropical plants, all the things I LOVE! :-)

The difference is that in FL it stays hot most of the year. In other states, they get "heat waves" where it is only hot 2 months out of the year. So while it may be hotter in other places today, in a month Florida will be the hottest part of the country once again while Boston will be chilly.
