I am a yoga teacher who leads yoga retreats (my next one is in spring in Puglia, Italy; check it out: sarahauber.com/yoga-retreat-in-italy). I adore Italy, and it's the perfect place to introduce newbies to the beautiful world of yoga, but with the down economy people seem less able to fly overseas for their much-needed vacations.

Therefore, I am looking at holding my 2013 retreat somewhere in beautiful Florida!

Finding information about the suitability of a place for a yoga retreat is pretty challenging. So I am reaching out to you to ask:

1) What area in or near Ft. Lauderdale offers a vacationer the most peaceful experience? (That is, NOT during spring break weeks!)
2) Where would I be able to find a 6- to 8-room house that might be a little ways from the beach (ie, on a hill?), but with great views of the coast?
3) Do you think a different beach community on the FL coast would suit a yoga and meditation retreat better than Ft. Lauderdale? If so, where and why?

I haven't been to FL in about 20 years, but I selected Ft. L. because it seems to be so gorgeous. Any "insider tips" you can give me for finding a suitable place anywhere on the FL coast would be so much appreciated!

Thanks for your help,
